About the Series

 

Based on the dove of peace, this series is intended to induce thought and discussion about how to bring peace into our lives.  Religion, frequently an avenue of division, is used in this series to encourage cross-cultural inspirations.  The series merges representational and iconographic images both physically and emotionally.  This duality helps illuminate inconsistencies in our beliefs that lead us away from a path of peace.

 

The sculptures are made of 10 Gauge 304 stainless steel for maintenance-free, long-term exhibition.  Each is given a hand applied finish designed to refract light in multiple directions.  This gives the sculptures a sense of movement and warmth not usually associated with stainless steel.  On closer examination, one sees that the finish has been applied to the metal, much as a painter uses brushstrokes, to further add dynamics when viewed from any distance.  Each piece has a receiver to allow mounting on a pole or wall mount bracket (custom designed for your location).  Additionally, the artist will gladly assist in designing your lighting to maximize the impact of your sculpture.
