Salaam

 

Salaam melds the ancient symbols of the crescent moon and star with the dove signifying Mohammed's messages of peace.  It measures 48" tall by 43.5" wide and weighs 36 pounds.  The artist hopes the installation will not only generate discussion about peace's role in Islam, but broadcast the community's commitment toward peace to those who assume otherwise. While this sculpture is made for indoor exhibition, the artist would like to make a large scale version of this for outdoor installation.
